Nude photography has a complicated history. Here's exactly how we run our shoots so that you stay in control.

Every Cesare House shoot follows these rules, with no exceptions.

Bring anyone you want
A partner, a friend, a parent, anyone. They can stay for the whole shoot, help move the lights, sit and read a book, or join in with the inevitable banter. You don't need to tell us in advance.

Change your mind any time
You can lower your intimacy level at any point. Saying yes to full nudity doesn't commit you to it. Sometimes we order tea and then realise we don't really want tea.

Zero tolerance
Any coercion, pressure or misconduct ends the shoot immediately.
The intimacy coordination system.
Before we meet, you'll have a video call with one of our photographers. On that call you choose your intimacy level. It sets the limit for the session. You can always go lower, but never higher without a new consent form.

Your images, your control.

Print only
Your images appear only in the printed book and are never published online. We'll give you some of the photos that don't make the cut. If you want to let us use them on this site or on social media to attract other models, that's entirely up to you.

Limited runs
Each book is limited to 150-500 copies. When they're gone, they're gone. We never reprint and there's no digital version.

Written approval required
We need your written permission to use any image outside the book. We'll always ask.

You receive images
You'll get at least 3 high-resolution JPEGs for your own use. Most models get a lot more, depending on how the shoot goes.

What if I change my mind during the shoot?
You can lower your intimacy level at any point during the shoot. We'll adjust straight away and won't ask why.
Can I bring my partner or a friend?
Yes. You can bring a chaperone at any time, without telling us in advance. They're welcome to stay for the whole shoot.
Will my images appear online?
No. The images we shoot for the book only appear in the printed book, and we don't publish them online. We'll give you some of the photos that don't make the cut, and you can do what you like with those. If you want to, you can let us use some of those outtakes on our website or social channels to show our work. That's your choice and we won't push you. Each book is a limited run of 150-500 copies.
How are you different from other photographers?
We use an intimacy coordination system, we have a zero-tolerance policy and we only publish in print. You're also welcome to take up references from any of our previous models. The testimonials on this site are real, and you can speak to the models directly to hear how it went for them.
What happens if I feel uncomfortable?
Tell us straight away. We'll pause, change what we're doing or stop completely, whatever you need.
Is this professional or amateur work?
Professional. Our work has been exhibited at Fotografiska, Haze Gallery, and NOW Gallery.
I've been to Burning Man or I'm part of the Burner community. Is this a good fit?
Probably, yes. Many of our participants come from the Burning Man community, where body positivity and self-expression matter. The community's focus on consent fits well with how we work. We've met several participants through Burning Man and regional burns.
I take part in the World Naked Bike Ride. Would I be a good candidate?
Very likely. WNBR riders often share our views on body positivity and treating nudity as normal. Several participants in our books found us through naked bike ride groups. If you're comfortable being nude in public for a cause, you'll probably feel at ease in a private studio with us.
Is this body-positive photography?
Yes. We photograph people of all body types, ages and backgrounds, and we deliberately push back on the narrow beauty standards in mainstream media. We're looking for real people who want to explore how they feel about their own bodies, and "model" bodies aren't the point.
I'm part of a naturist or nudist community. Is this similar?
There's a lot of overlap. Like naturism, we treat nudity as normal and non-sexual (though some projects do explore sensuality). The difference is that we're making art for a limited-edition book. Many naturists like having a lasting record of how comfortable they are in their bodies.
Do you work with couples who aren't married or in traditional relationships?
Yes. We work with all kinds of couples: married, dating, long-distance, non-monogamous, same-sex and everything in between. What matters is that you're close, whatever your legal status.
Is this fine art nude photography?
Yes. Our work belongs to the fine art tradition. It's been exhibited at Fotografiska, Haze Gallery and NOW Gallery, and it's published in limited-edition art books. We don't do glamour photography or online content.
Is this paid work? How much?
Yes. Riding Solo shoots pay £120 per person and Sunday Morning shoots pay £120 per couple (or the local-currency equivalent), paid on the day. The Inside Out add-on pays an extra £30. We never charge participants anything.
How quickly will I hear back?
We reply to every application within a week, whether or not we can offer you a shoot.
Can I stay anonymous?
You can appear under a pseudonym, and many participants do. Your face does need to be in the photographs: the books are portraits of real people.
How do you check age and ID?
Everyone must be 18 or over. On the day of the shoot we take a copy of your ID, or you can verify your ID in advance through our partner platform, EqualFrame.
What does the model release cover?
The release sets out how the images from your shoot can be used in the book. You'll see it before the shoot, and you can ask to add your own conditions, which we agree together before anything is signed.
Can I withdraw after the shoot?
The release doesn't give a contractual right to withdraw once it's signed, but if you have second thoughts, talk to us. We'll do our best to accommodate any reasonable request.
Do I get a copy of the book?
You receive prints of the eight photos of you that appear in the book, free. You can buy your own copy of the book at 30% off, and further copies at 5% off.
Is there a reward for referring other models?
Yes. If you refer three or more people who go on to appear in one of our books, you get a copy of the book free. Just ask them to name you when they apply.
Do you cover travel costs?
Travel costs can be covered, but they must be agreed with us before the shoot is booked.
Who will be in the room?
Usually just the photographer, and occasionally a lighting assistant, which we agree with you beforehand. You can ask for a photographer of a particular gender. You are always welcome to bring a chaperone, without telling us in advance.
What should I bring or wear?
Nothing complicated. Your shoot brief covers the details, but we want to photograph you as you are, so it's all things you already have in your wardrobe.
Do I need a particular kind of body?
No. Every body is welcome: tattoos, scars, disabilities, and any age from 18 up, with no upper limit.
I've done life modelling. Is this similar?
They're two different things. Life models hold poses for a group of artists, usually in a class. With us you're photographed, usually with just the photographer in the room, for a printed book. A few of our models do both, and being comfortable nude in front of others can make a first shoot easier.
How are couples paid for Sunday Morning?
Sunday Morning shoots pay £120 per couple (or the local-currency equivalent), on the day.
