Light, space, and an ease that is unmistakably Australian
Sydney is our southern hemisphere home. We travel to Australia once or twice a year, typically scheduling a week of shoots that coincide with the Australian autumn or spring when the light is at its most beautiful. The quality of natural light in Sydney is extraordinary -- golden, generous, and unlike anything we experience in Europe or North America.
We shoot in private studio spaces across Sydney's inner suburbs, primarily in Surry Hills, Redfern, and Marrickville. Sydney's creative precinct offers converted warehouse studios with stunning natural light, high ceilings, and the kind of relaxed atmosphere that reflects the city itself. These are fully private spaces where you will not be disturbed.
Sydney also offers something our other locations cannot: proximity to some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world. While the majority of our work happens in studio settings, we have explored the possibility of carefully managed outdoor shoots in private locations for future projects. The interplay between the human body and the Australian landscape is a creative conversation we are excited to continue.

Australia has a complicated but increasingly progressive relationship with the body in art. Sydney, as the country's cultural capital, is at the forefront of that shift. The city's thriving arts scene, from the Museum of Contemporary Art overlooking the harbour to the independent galleries of Chippendale and Darlinghurst, has become increasingly receptive to work that celebrates bodies of all kinds.
Sydney's beach culture plays an interesting role in this conversation. The city's relationship with the body is more public and more relaxed than in many other places we shoot. That cultural ease translates directly into our work. Participants in Sydney often bring a natural comfort and confidence that is less about bravado and more about genuine self-acceptance. There is a groundedness here that we find deeply compelling.
The Australian photography community has a strong tradition of landscape and documentary work, and body-positive fine art photography is a growing part of that conversation. We have been encouraged by the response to our work from both participants and the wider creative community in Sydney. As our presence in Australia grows, we are exploring gallery partnerships to bring exhibitions to the city.
We regularly work with participants from across the Greater Sydney area, and we have also welcomed people who have travelled from Melbourne, Brisbane, and regional New South Wales. Our Australian shoots tend to attract a particularly diverse group, reflecting Sydney's multicultural identity and the breadth of stories waiting to be told.
Practical details
How a Sydney shoot works
Because we travel to Sydney from the UK, our scheduling works slightly differently. We announce our Australian dates several months in advance, giving you plenty of time to plan. Once your application is accepted and we have had our introductory video call, we will match you to the nearest available Sydney session.
The shoot itself follows the same structure as all Cesare House sessions: two to three hours, at your pace, with full privacy and a professional, caring environment. We bring our full safety protocols to every international shoot, including an intimacy coordinator for all sessions involving nudity or couples work.
Payment is at our standard global rate, made in Australian dollars on the day of the shoot. We pay the same everywhere in the world because we believe your participation has the same value regardless of geography. No invoicing, no delays, no complications.
If you are based in Melbourne or elsewhere in Australia and would like to shoot with us, we encourage you to apply regardless of your location. We may be able to coordinate with our schedule, and as our Australian presence grows, we are actively considering expanding to additional cities. Your application helps us understand where the demand is.
